The Professional Internal Auditor designation is a more senior and supervisory designation to the Internal Audit Technician. Those in this position usually provide a link between upper management and the junior staff that they oversee.
Admission requirements:
- Academic: Must have an academic qualification at NQF level 7 or above and must hold the Internal Audit Technician (IAT) designation.
- Practical: Must have a minimum of five years internal audit experience and must be a practising Internal Auditor.
- Exams: Must successfully complete the final competency assessment for the General Internal Auditor qualification.
- CPD: A practising Professional Internal Auditor must complete 40 CPD every year, while a non-practicing Professional Internal Auditor must complete 20 CPD hours every year.
