The Certified Business Accountant (SA) is SAIBA’s official designation for financial managers. With a focus on management, CBAs are able to manage all aspects of a finance or accounting department. Typical job titles for people with this designation include finance controller, credit controller, comptroller, corporate controller, finance lawyer, commercial lawyer, investment bankers, relationship manager, relationship banker, procurement manager and treasury analyst.
Admission requirements:
- Academic: B Com Hons, CTA, or commerce based Advanced Diploma. (NQF level 8 or higher)
- Practical: 2 years operational level finance dept experience or as a trainee in practice OR 4 years relevant experience in finance department at a managerial level
- Exams: Employer confirmation you achieved 34 critical competencies at a comprehension level AND completion of a course and assessment in ethics AND completion of a course in technology and business
- CPD: Must complete 30 hours a year of which at least 15 must be verifiable
- SAQA certificate
